Some portraits record a likeness. Others seem to preserve a creature that has never entirely belonged to the ordinary world.

Women of the Archetype originates in an Atelier MHB portrait series exploring the feminine figure through transformation, symbolism and imagined natural history.

Against a distant coastal landscape, a woman appears crowned with branching coral, her eyes transformed by dark iridescent wings. Pearls, antique jewellery and the improbable presence of a drifting balloon turn the portrait into something suspended between memory and invention — part traveller, part specimen, part guardian of an unknown place.

The original Atelier MHB collage is reproduced across the finely textured surface of the compact, preserving its pale Mediterranean blues, coral red, botanical green and vivid orange.

Created as a small art object to carry with you, rather than an ordinary accessory.

CARE

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged contact with water. Keep closed when carrying to protect the mirrors.
